Satan is not Divided

Scripture:  But some of them said, "He casts out demons by Be-el'zebul, the prince of demons"; 16 while others, to test him, sought from him a sign from heaven. 17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. 18 And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Be-el'zebul. Luke 11:15-18

Reflection:  The appeal that unity throws up is fantastic. We want unity in the church, in the family, in the neighborhood, in the work place, in our nation. There are many who work for unity.  While we seek to work for unity the one who is the cause of all disunity, everywhere, works with greater unity of efforts and manpower (demon power); kingdom which apparently seems divided against itself is not a divided kingdom but an united kingdom of Satan with a common cause and purpose.

All who work as agents of Satan are much more united for a common cause and purpose than many Christians. Why so? It is so, because many Christians are more united in causes which are not Christian. Some seek unity under the banner of uniformity and by reducing diversity.  Christ abiding in the most Holy Trinity and now abiding in us is the primary cause of our unity and it is this unity that we need to work for even bringing others into this relationship.

Prayer:  Lord, may I be one with you as you are in the Father and I in you and draw others too to the same unity. Queen of the Holy Rosary, pray for us!
