Scripture:What
do you think? A man had two sons; and he went to the first and said, 'Son, go
and work in the vineyard today.' 29 And he answered, 'I will not'; but afterward he repented
and went. 30 And he went to the second and said the same; and he answered,
'I go, sir,' but did not go. 31 Which of the two did the will of his father?" They
said, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, the
tax collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John
came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the
tax collectors and the harlots believed him; and even when you saw it, you did
not afterward repent and believe him. Matt 21:28-32
Reflection: The Chief priest and the Elders were asked by Jesus a question: What do
you think? We all have an opinion and
are capable of knowing, the truth, of what is right and wrong with a big
LIMITATION. These were Chief priests and elders and they should have known the
essence of life. How will they guide the people if they do not know the essence
of life? Did they know the answer, they
knew the answer but they did not know practical application, i.e. how to apply
a truth to life and even practice it? (all knowledge but no wisdom)
So
knowing the truth is not enough but what you do after knowing it is what is
important. Practical wisdom comes from willingness to change and obedience from
a heart inclined to do the will God, especially in believing the word of
Christ.
Do I prayerfully read the Bible daily and seek
to apply and act on it?
Prayer:
Lord, may I work towards a complete change of heart in my walk with you.
