Resurrection

Scripture: There came to him some Sadducees, those who say that there is no resurrection. Luke 20:27

Reflection:  What if the Sadducees were right and Jesus was wrong, indeed there must be no resurrection from the dead? Or maybe they meant something else when they said that there is no resurrection from the dead.  After all, who has seen the resurrection?

What does it take to put a seed of such doubts into the human mind; for resurrection is not a visible reality which we can tangibly see in ordinary day to day life or experience it?  The human rationality teaches us; that which we cannot see we are not bound to believe.

Is there an excuse for such rationale? The resurrection of the dead is not a trivial matter to be ignored.  In his resurrection Jesus has opened the door way to the resurrection.

We don’t have to believe in the resurrection first but instead believe in the Lord of the resurrection and he will give us the experience of the resurrection, the conviction and wisdom to believe. He will prove it to us that the resurrection is real and help us to live by this necessary belief if we have to lead an upright life.

Prayer: Lord, help me to believe you so that I may never waver in my belief in the resurrection.
