Be found in Christ

Scripture: The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. ………………….. Jacob the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ. 17 So all the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations. Matt 1:1-17

Reflection:  Jesus Christ: the son of David, the son of Abraham. Why is this genealogy silent about Adam who was before Abraham and Saul the first king of Israel and who reigned before David? It doesn’t matter as long as you belong to Christ and are found in him. (2 Tim.2:19) Though Abraham and David were not among the first and privileged lot, yet they were faithful and had God as the reason for doing everything.
It doesn’t matter whether you are first or last, tall or short, dark or fair, dull or studious, poor or rich. What matters is whether you are rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus through faith. (Eph. 3:17, Col. 2:7)
Prayer: Lord, help us to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering. Heb 10:22-23
