He needs Volunteers

Scripture:  After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to come. 2 And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Luke 10:1-2

Reflection:  Every year we pray and many of us every day so that the Lord may send laborers into his vineyard. There is no marked difference; in fact the laborers are becoming less and less among the Catholics.  Why is the Lord not sending laborers into his vineyard in spite of the prayers of the community and the many as individuals?

How can the Lord pick up one and send them into his vineyard?   It’s because no one wants be a laborers. If no one is willing to be a laborer, then we may pray and pray but the Lord says there is no one who is willing to be a laborer.  St. Francis Xavier was willing to become a labourer and therefore the Lord send him into his vineyard, maybe through the prayers of the many.

But imposters and pretenders are many.

How about you? Do you want to be a laborer?  If yes, speak your heart out to him.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to be sincere for I want to be a laborer in your vineyard.  St. Francis Xavier; pray for us.
